Sport Clips Holds Largest National Huddle in Franchise History

June 14, 2008 - Austin, TX - Sport Clips, the nation’s leading men and boy’s hair-care provider, drew almost 1,100 of the franchise's team members to its recent National Huddle in Austin, near the company’s home-base in Georgetown. With the largest crowd in its franchise history, Sport Clips founder and CEO Gordon Logan announced plans for Sport Clips to have 1,000 stores open by 2010 and continue its growth into the northeastern United States. Sport Clips now has 560 stores open across the county.

Special guests of the meeting were ESPN commentator, longtime coach, and December 2008 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame Lou Holtz, who early on gave his blessing for his “Heart of a Champion” concepts to be integrated throughout the Sport Clips franchise, and NASCAR driver Mike Wallace, whose #7 GEICO Camry is in part sponsored by Sport Clips. Speakers included John Paul DeJoria, co-founder of Paul Mitchell Systems, and Mel Kleiman of Humetrics.

Showcased with awards at the Huddle were:

Area Developers of the Year: Bill and Sharon Vandrick and Joe and Jane Klimek of Houston. Together the Houston-area team oversees some 44 stores in the city, its suburbs and in College Station, Temple, Waco, Temple, Killeen, and Brenham.

AD of the Year Runner-up: David Weseman of Omaha, Nebraska. Weseman’s Sport Clips interests include his home state of Nebraska, as well as Iowa, South Dakota, parts of Missouri, and Kansas.

Team Leaders (franchisees) of the Year: Jay and Jana Chamberlain of Dallas. They own 8 Sport Clips in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Runner-up TLs of the Year: Jerry and Celine Hughes of Kansas City, Missouri, who have their first store in Olathe, Kansas.

Rookie Team Leader of the Year: Ed Majeski of Wilmington, North Carolina, whose first store is in Wilmington, with stores scheduled to open this summer in Wilson and Greenville.

Runner up Rookie TL of the Year: Stacy Patulski of Muskegon, Michigan, who has two stores open in Muskegon and Grandville.
