Sport Clips Holds Largest National
Huddle in Franchise History
June 14, 2008 - Austin, TX - Sport Clips, the nation’s
leading men and boy’s hair-care provider, drew almost 1,100 of the
franchise's team members to its recent National Huddle in Austin,
near the company’s home-base in Georgetown. With the largest crowd
in its franchise history, Sport Clips founder and CEO Gordon Logan
announced plans for Sport Clips to have 1,000 stores open by 2010
and continue its growth into the northeastern United States. Sport
Clips now has 560 stores open across the county.
Special guests of the meeting were ESPN commentator, longtime
coach, and December 2008 inductee into the College Football Hall
of Fame Lou Holtz, who early on gave his blessing for his “Heart
of a Champion” concepts to be integrated throughout the Sport
Clips franchise, and NASCAR driver Mike Wallace, whose #7 GEICO
Camry is in part sponsored by Sport Clips. Speakers included John
Paul DeJoria, co-founder of Paul Mitchell Systems, and Mel Kleiman
of Humetrics.
Showcased with awards at the Huddle were:
Area Developers of the Year: Bill and Sharon Vandrick and Joe and
Jane Klimek of Houston. Together the Houston-area team oversees
some 44 stores in the city, its suburbs and in College Station,
Temple, Waco, Temple, Killeen, and Brenham.
AD of the Year Runner-up: David Weseman of Omaha, Nebraska.
Weseman’s Sport Clips interests include his home state of
Nebraska, as well as Iowa, South Dakota, parts of Missouri, and
Kansas.
Team Leaders (franchisees) of the Year: Jay and Jana Chamberlain
of Dallas. They own 8 Sport Clips in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Runner-up TLs of the Year: Jerry and Celine Hughes of Kansas City,
Missouri, who have their first store in Olathe, Kansas.
Rookie Team Leader of the Year: Ed Majeski of Wilmington, North
Carolina, whose first store is in Wilmington, with stores
scheduled to open this summer in Wilson and Greenville.
Runner up Rookie TL of the Year: Stacy Patulski of Muskegon,
Michigan, who has two stores open in Muskegon and Grandville.
